It came a little early this year, but Raleigh Wide Open 2010 drew good-sized crowds and pleasantly cool conditions.

Our crew glided on Segways during the parade and we debuted something new this time in addition to our usual routine of figure eight’s and 360-degree turns: Segway polo! From the Capitol to the Convention Center, Bruce and Wayne, much to the crowd’s delight, demonstrated a little bit of Segway polo all along the parade route.

And She Said “Yes!” The First Marriage Proposal On Our Tours!

On our May 30 Capital City East Segway tour on Memorial Day Weekend, love was in the air! Something extra special happened: a marriage proposal!

Under the stately oaks and the copper acorn in downtown Raleigh’s Moore Square, the Segway tour took a planned pause. Then, on bended knee, guest Chris H. popped the question to his girlfriend Kat.

The joyous event was followed by celebratory sparkling cider inside our store in City Market, where the eight other tour members and our own Triangle Segway staff wished the happy couple “Congratulations!” Cheers to Chris and Kat!
